Are you open at lunchtime?

The practice is closed for lunch from 1pm until 2pm. If you have an appointment at 2pm, please kindly wait in the porch until the door is re-opened at this time.  For any telephone queries, please leave a message on the answerphone and we will return your call as soon as possible.

Do you have parking available?

Yes, we have a large car park at the front of the practice which is available for patients to use when they visit us.

Do you see children?

We see children under the age of sixteen for an examination free of charge as long as they are seen alongside a parents appointment.  Our dental health educator can see children for oral hygiene advice and tooth brushing clubs can be run subject to demand. See our pages on hygiene and dental health education for more details.

How and when can I pay?

We ask you to pay as you go after each appointment and can take cash, cheque and all major credit cards (except American Express). If you require any treatment, you will be given a written treatment plan outlining the cost so that you are able to plan your finances accordingly. Routine treatment is normally charged on a time basis. Please see our fees page for more details.

How long will I have to wait for a treatment appointment?

If after seeing the dentist for an examination you need further treatment, we can normally see you within a week or two. Longer appointments or appointments required at the start or end of the day may need to be booked a little further ahead.

We also have an automated cancellation list for those patients who can make a short notice appointment if one becomes available unexpectedly.

I am a new patient, how can I register?

We always welcome new patients to the practice and we are happy to give you information and answer any questions prior to booking an initial examination appointment. Please telephone the practice on 01202 292030 and we can take some details from you and make an appointment for you.

What happens if my dentist has referred me to have a root canal?

If your dentist has recommended that you be seen by Dr. Jivraj, he or she will contact us requesting an appointment for you.  We will then contact you to arrange an appointment for an initial consultation.  You will still need to see your dentist for routine examinations even if you are being seen here in regards to your root canal.

What happens if my dentist has referred me to the gum specialist?

If your dentist has recommended that you be seen by Dr. Nanji, he or she will contact us requesting an appointment for you. We will then contact you to arrange an appointment for an initial consultation. You will still need to see your dentist for routine examinations even if you are being seen here in regards to your gum condition.

What if I have an emergency?

We always endeavour to see patients in pain on the same day. Priority is given to patients of the practice but we can also see new patients in pain as long as there is a time slot available.

We request that patients contact the practice as early as possible in the day to secure an emergency appointment slot.

If you are a patient of the practice and have an emergency out of hours, please telephone the practice on 01202 292030 and listen to the instructions on the answer phone.

What if I need to cancel an appointment?

We try hard to offer timely appointments for all our patients. We request that patients give us at least 48 hours notice to cancel an appointment so that the time can be offered to somebody else. This can be done by telephoning or e-mailing the practice.  We have a missed appointment and cancellation policy in place which can be found here: Cancellation and missed appointment policy

We do charge a rebooking fee when appointments are missed or cancelled within 48 hours for a second time within a period.  All charges are at the discretion of the dentist.
